When I first purchased a computer I had no idea that fractals even existed, and Painter 4 was my first choice as a means of doing creative work (currently updated to Painter X3).  A magazine offered a free trial copy of Ultra Fractal (3, I think), and it was immediately bought and has been my key means of expression ever since, though it has to be admitted I'm more motivated to finding how a computer and art can be related than to any pure fractal means of expression. This puts me at odds with many but does provide a more consistent link to traditional forms of art creation (oils, watercolour, acrylics and the like).  I also have a keen interest in colour which is possibly a natural outcome from previously having to mix colours when painting with watercolours etc.

I live in Bristol, UK, am rather aged (the bones creak, the body apt to attempt its own thing).  I was a member of a local arts club and regularly exhibited in their annual open exhibitions, and even entered computer art over some three years until too many obstacles made it impossible (they debarred digital prints, for instance, and also insisted works had to be for sale).

Sadly, I often have too little free time available to explore the DA galleries so my comments are likely to be scant though I do attempt a  response to comments made.  Feedback from others I'd say is helpful to most artists, for the creative process is a solitary and lonely business, and encouragement an aid to perseverance.
