Ultra Fractal 5.04 plus Painter X3 (0ne-layer).
The parameter file relating to the original has been placed in the UF Mailing List. It is also tweakable on the List if anyone cares to play. You'll see that the two images make use of colour in very different ways. This one in particular contrasts three shades of grey with three blue shades as a distinct compositional feature. The original fractal image also has a slight three-dimensional element.
